Families participate in Sen. Kirk's stair climb at Navy Pier

Children and families who are members of Sen. Mark Kirk's "Battle Buddies" turned out at Navy Pier Thursday to participate in a stair climb with the senator.

The group climbed the stairs in front of the Ferris wheel to motivate people living with disabilities.

Kirk, who survived a stroke, founded the statewide support group to help people recovering from health setbacks or with disabilities set goals for recovery.
