Families participate in Sen. Kirk's stair climb at Navy Pier

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Children and families who are members of Sen. Mark Kirk's "Battle Buddies" turned out at Navy Pier Thursday to participate in a stair climb with the senator.

The group climbed the stairs in front of the Ferris wheel to motivate people living with disabilities.

Kirk, who survived a stroke, founded the statewide support group to help people recovering from health setbacks or with disabilities set goals for recovery.
