CHICAGO (WLS) -- People who have trouble sitting still may live longer.

A new study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that women who sit for long periods of time and fidget have a lower mortality rate than those who sit still.

That's backed up by other studies that found sitting around all day is linked to a variety of health problems, from obesity to heart disease.

TIME Magazine said researchers surveyed 14,000 women between the ages of 35 and 69 from the UK. They were monitored for an average of 12 years.
