CHCIAGO (WLS) -- It's never too early to worry about high cholesterol.

Many people in their 30s and 40s indulge in fatty foods thinking cholesterol levels are not a concern at that age.

But researchers say that's not the case. They found that for each decade of high cholesterol early in life, the risk of developing heart disease doubled.

So someone who had high cholesterol in their 30s could see their risk of heart disease quadruple by age of 70 compared to someone who never had the problem.
