Running decreases heart attack, stroke risk, study finds

More time on the treadmill now could pay off down the road.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins found that every extra minute a person between the ages of 18 and 30 was able to run before stopping had a 12-percent decrease in heart attacks and strokes.

The study followed nearly 5,000 people between those ages for 25 years.

They also say it's never too late to start exercising.
