CHICAGO (WLS) -- A new study says that certain types of birth control pills are linked to cancer.
The study found women who took high-dose pills had a 50 percent higher risk of breast cancer. Researchers studied thousands of women between the ages of 20 and 49 and found those who took the higher dose pills had a greater chance of developing cancer. They say the use of low-dose estrogen pills did not seem to increase the risk.
Researchers do plan further studies to learn more about any connections between birth control pills and cancer.
