Indonesian prosecutors want jail sentences of 18 years for Tommy Schaefer and 15 years for Heather Mack if they are found guilty.
Mack and Schaefer are charged in the murder of Sheila von Wiese-Mack, 62, in August on the resort island of Bali.
Von Weise-Mack's beaten body was found in a suitcase in the trunk of a taxi outside an upscale hotel in August 2014 on the resort island of Bali.
Lawyers representing the American couple argued that there are no evidences of premeditated murder and sought light sentences.

BALI, Indonesia -- Heather Mack, 19, of Chicago, is keeping her newborn daughter, Stella, with her at an Indonesian jail while on trial in the murder of her mother at a Bali resort.

Stella's father, Tommy Schaefer, 21, of Chicago, admitted to killing Sheila von Wiese-Mack in August 2014, but said it was in self-defense.
