CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police want public help to find a hit-and-run driver who killed a 60-year-old man who was already in the street because he had just been hit before.

Police initially said the man had been struck and killed by an unmarked police vehicle Wednesday in the 2800-block of East 79th Street in the city's South Chicago neighborhood.

Now they say they are searching for the driver of a dark colored SUV seen speeding from the scene, a vehicle that may have been responsible for the accident.
