Chicago Marathon lottery opens Tuesday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Ready to try for a spot in this year's Chicago Marathon? The lottery opens on Tuesday at noon.

To register, visit www.chicagomarathon.com. Runners who have a guaranteed spot can also sign up on Tuesday.

Registration ends April 21.

This is the second year organizers are using the lottery system. More than 40,000 runners participated in last year's race.

The 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is set for Sunday, Oct. 11.
