For a lot of college students, this is their first opportunity to design their own space from scratch. It's important that they inject their personality to make their home-away-from-home feel comfortable and welcoming.

3 Things to Keep in Mind:

Color - Dorm rooms and college apartments are a blank slate, but can appear cold and sterile with a lack of color. Work with bright punches of color to warm up the space and reflect your personality.

Comfort - Comfort is key. Layer textiles on your bed to create a warm and inviting space perfect for vegging out or relaxing. Using an area rug on the floor can help absorb sound in the room and warm up the space.

Creativity - This is the time to get creative and make smart use of the space. Dorm rooms and college apartments are smaller, so you need to get creative when it comes to storage.
