HUNTLEY, Ill. (WLS) -- McHenry County officials removed a horse, a goat and four juvenile pigs from a property in Huntley Thursday after receiving citizen complaints of animal cruelty, police said.

Officials from McHenry County Animal Control and Adoption along with the McHenry County Sheriff's Office arrived on the property, located on Diekman Road, around 1 p.m. Tuesday. Officials say they saw a number of animals in poor condition requiring emergency care and immediately removed the six animals from the property.

The horse died in-route to the University of Wisconsin Veterinary Hospital, officials say. A necropsy is scheduled for the animal.

Officials say other animals not in immediate danger were left on the property but will be monitored by McHenry County Animal Control.
