SB I-355 reopens after crash at St. Charles Rd.

LOMBARD, Ill. (WLS) -- All southbound lanes of I-355 have reopened near St. Charles Road following a three-vehicle crash Friday morning.

State police said the driver of a black Chevrolet Blazer driving southbound on I-355 lost control of his vehicle shortly after 7 a.m. and swerved to the right, striking a black Chevrolet Equinox. The Blazer then swerved to the left, striking a concrete barrier and hitting a third vehicle, a white Chevrolet Express.

Police said the 33-year-old driver of the Blazer was partially ejected during one of the impacts. Investigators said he was not wearing a seat belt.

Police said he suffered severe injuries and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
