1 dead after I-90 crash near Elgin

ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- Police are investigating a fatal crash on westbound I-90 near Elgin, officials said.

A car was traveling in the westbound lanes around 6:10 a.m. Saturday when the driver, Lavon Deangelo Woods, lost control and collided with a semi-tractor trailer that was parked on the expressway's right shoulder, police said.

Woods, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The westbound right lane has re-opened after it was closed while crews worked to clear the scene. No other details have been released.
