IKEA Design Specialist Meredith Kelleher shared a beautiful table that uses inexpensive elements and some imagination.

HOLIDAY APPETIZERS, DRINKS FROM SWEDEN

The holidays are filled with family, friends and celebration. Meredith shared some simple appetizers and drinks with a Swedish twist.

IKEA Product Specialist Meredith Kelleher stopped by WCL to give us some simple appetizers and drinks with a Swedish twist.

Swedish traditions take on a tasty twist with these appetizers.

Easy Salmon Bites, served cold, are made up of a cracker base with cream cheese ranch spread, sliced cucumber and Gravad Lax dill cured salmon.

Buffalo Chicken Meatball skewers, served hot, are made up of chicken meatballs glazed in hot wing sauce, sliced and stacked on a skewer with bleu cheese and ranch sauce drizzled over.

Glogg, a traditional Swedish Christmas beverage, is a non-alcoholic mulled wine with spices.

Elderflower Champagne spritz is a combination of elderflower concentrate, champagne and club soda.

RECIPES

Easy Salmon Bites

1 package KRUSTADER mini croustades

1 8oz package cream cheese

1 package powdered ranch dressing

2 Tbl milk

1 baby cucumber

1 package GRAVAD LAX

Mix softened cream cheese, powdered ranch and milk until smooth. Spread a thin layer in the bottom of the KRUSTADER. Peel and slice cucumber and add one slice to each KRUSTADER cup. Top with a slice of GRAVAD LAX and garnish with chopped dill.

Buffalo Chicken Meatball Skewers

1 bag frozen chicken meatballs

1 bottle buffalo sauce

1 package Ost Blamogel bleu cheese

Heat chicken meatballs in saute pan with buffalo sauce until hot and glazed. Slice meatball in half, place half on plate, top with chunk of bleu cheese, then add second half and skewer meatball stack.

Glogg

2 bottles GLOGG

3 star anise

5 orange slices

2 cinnamon sticks

1 Tbl cardamom pods

Simmer, then serve in glasses. Traditionally served with raisins and almonds in each glass.

Elderflower Champagne Cocktail

1 bottle champagne or dry sparkling wine

1 cup DRYCK FLADER elderflower drink

1 12 oz can of chilled club soda

Mix elderflower and club soda in pitcher. Fill champagne glass halfway with mixture, then top with champagne or sparkling wine.
