SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan said he plans to take action to end harassment and abuse at the State House.

In a letter to Democratic caucus members, Madigan said "we haven't done enough," and took responsibility for that shortcoming.

Madigan fired political consultant Kevin Quinn Monday after Quinn was accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a co-worker.

Quinn was fired three months after Madigan learned about the misconduct.
