Ex-Subway spokesman Jared Fogle will be sentenced Thursday on child sex and porn charges.

INDIANAPOLIS (WLS) -- Jared Fogle apologized after pleading guilty to child sexual abuse and child pornography on Thursday. The former Subway spokesperson told a federal judge he regrets his actions, but can't undo the past.

He said he hope to be a better man and father when he's released from prison.

On Thursday, the judge sentenced him to 15.6 years.

During the sentencing hearing, experts called by the defense testified that Fogle suffers from hypersexuality and problems with alcohol. His attorneys said the 38-year-old is committed to receiving treatment for those medical conditions.

Before the sentencing portion began, Fogle pleaded guilty to one count each of travelling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor and distribution and receipt of child pornography. He told U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt that he understands the charges and possible sentences that come with his change of plea, which was announced in August.

In July, Fogle admitted to paying for sex with girls as young as 16 and receiving child pornography produced by the former director of his charitable foundation. He agreed to pay his 14 victims $100,000 each.

Prosecutors asked for a 12 1/2 -year prison sentence, while Fogle's attorneys asked for five years behind bars.

Fogle did not speak to reporters as he entered the federal courthouse.
