CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 31-year-old Chicago man was charged in the sexual assault and kidnapping of a woman in Wrigleyville, where he forced her into the trunk of her car earlier this month, Chicago police said.
Police arrested Jarqueese O'Brian Henigan on Friday, about a week after the attack in the 3700-block of North Fremont.
On Sunday, a Cook County judge denied bail for Henigan. He faces aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.
Henigan was armed with a handgun when he approached the victim as she was exiting a garage at 8:20 p.m. March 9, police said. He then sexually assaulted her and forced her into the trunk of her vehicle, police said.
After the assault, police said Henigan took the car on a 23-mile long journey, stopping to use the woman's ATM card.
He then crashed into a tree near West 115th and South Throop streets on the city's Far South Side. The woman then escaped by using the emergency trunk release and called police.
Henigan is scheduled to return to court Monday.
