KANKAKEE, Ill. (WLS) -- A two-story house well-known as a gathering spot for gang members in south suburban Kankakee was shut down Wednesday after a court order, the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office said.

The property, located at 354 North Rosewood Avenue, was a meeting ground for the 354 North End Boyz, a faction of the Gangster Disciples. The building and surrounding area was the scene of shootings, drug sales, overdoses and other violence, the State's Attorney's Office said.

After a hearing on Tuesday, courts granted the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office the authority to enter the building, remove everyone inside, disconnect all utilities, and board up the property for a year.

Anyone with information on other properties is asked to contact their local police department or the State's Attorney's Office at 815-936-5800.
