Multi-vehicle accident closes all SB lanes on Lake Shore Drive between 56th and 57th

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Several vehicles are involved in an accident at 57th Street and Lake Shore Drive, according to Chicago Fire Department officials.

All southbound lanes between 56th Street and 57th Street are currently closed.

Officials said one person was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

Icy conditions likely contributed to the accident, officials said.

There has been no word on how long those lanes might be closed.
