CHICAGO (WLS) -- Traffic back-ups have plagued Lake Shore Drive during rush hours recently due to construction work between Grand and North avenues.
Resurfacing work has been ongoing for a week and half in the Gold Coast neighborhood. Daytime work involves concrete curbs.
The road carries 140,000 vehicles per day.
The Chicago Transportation Department officials said they are making steady progress and work should be wrapped in a couple of weeks.
That area has not been resurfaced in 16 years.
