CHICAGO (WLS) -- Lakeview Tobacco Shop was burglarized twice in one week in a rash of early morning robberies on the North Side.
Thieves broke into the tobacco shop on Clark Street on July 16 and July 22. The earlier burglary was caught on surveillance video. This time, they disabled the security cameras before taking off with thousands of dollars of merchandise.
Early Thursday morning, Chicago police were called to Cash America Loan and Pawn Shop in the 3900 block of North Broadway after burglars smashed in the glass door in the front to grab items. The two burglars took off in a small dark car.
Clark Street Sports is the fourth business in the area to be hit this month.
Investigators issued a community alert. They do not know if the same people are responsible for the burglaries.
