CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago family wants answers after a man died in police custody. They say police are not telling them everything they know about the death of 24-year-old Heriberto Godinez, Jr.

"I wanna understand why is it that I am a citizen of this city and this city is of no help to me and my family when we need them the most," said Crystal Godinez, sister.

Police said they arrested Godinez for trying to break into a building early Monday morning. Police said he was sweating and breathing heavily when they arrived.

Paramedics were called, but he died at the scene.

The Cook County Medical Examiner says his cause of death is pending and it could be several weeks before the autopsy is finished.
