SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WLS) -- A homicide investigation is underway Tuesday after a man was fatally shot outside a Walgreens in northwest suburban Schaumburg.

Police responded to several 911 calls about a man who had collapsed in the 1100-block of South Roselle Road after being shot around 5:15 p.m. Monday in front of the store.

Officers administered first aid before the victim was transported to Lutheran General Hospital, where he died at 2:09 a.m. Tuesday. He was identified to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Quentin Tillison, 38, of Schaumburg.

Preliminary investigation shows Tillison was acquainted with the shooter, police said. They allegedly got into a dispute before Tillison was shot once in the abdomen. The gunman was seen leaving the scene in a light-colored SUV, police said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday morning. No one is in custody. Investigators plan to interview relatives and witnesses to develop leads, police said.

Anyone who was at the Walgreens between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday or has information pertinent to the investigation should call the Schaumburg police tip line at 847-348-7055.
