Man pulled from car submerged in retention pond in New Lenox

NEW LENOX, Ill. (WLS) -- A man was critically hurt after he was pulled from a car submerged in a retention pond in New Lenox Monday night.

Emergency crews managed to pull the man from the car. The water was about 12 feet deep.

It happened in front of Village Hall on Veterans Parkway.

It is unclear how the car ended up in the water.
