CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are warning Northwest Side residents of a man who tried to lure a girl into his car while blowing kisses and whistling at her.

The girl was walking in the 3000-block of North Cicero Avenue in the city's Cragin neighborhood around 4:20 p.m. Monday. Police said that's when a man in a maroon-colored car started driving next to her and lowered his passenger-side window.

She told officers he started whistling at her, blew her kisses and motioned for her to come closer. The girl ran to a nearby business and called her mother, who called the police.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 50s with a medium build. He had white hair parted down the middle, white eyebrows and a white mustache.

Police said the car he was driving was a four-door vehicle, possibly a Dodge Neon.

Anyone with information on this incident should contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8200.
