CHICAGO (WLS) -- The team effort to empower future leaders on this International Women's Day.

Tuesday night high school-aged Girl Scouts learned how to run a successful business from women McDonald's owners at a meet-up in the Loop.

They talked about what it takes to be a leader and entrepreneur in today's society.

"I think that it's important to be able to show who you are and really be able to work up and do what you want," said Brandelline Hoover, Girl Scout.

"Young girls need role models and I think that they need to know that there is a place they can aspire to and they can continue to grow and they can be successful," said Christine Lott, McDonald's Owner/Operator.

The Scouts also learned interviewing techniques and how to write resumes.
