Woman rescued before Metra train strikes car in Western Springs

WESTERN SPRINGS, Ill. (WLS) -- Metra trains on the BNSF line were delayed Monday evening after a woman was rescued from her car, seconds before a train struck it.

Police say the elderly woman was turning off Wolf Road in Western Springs when her car became stuck on the tracks.

Luckily someone was nearby and helped her out before it was hit.
