Skokie agrees to pay $875,000 to settle claims of excessive force

SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) -- A northwest suburb has agreed to pay $875,000 to a woman who accused a police officer of using excessive force after a DUI arrest.

Video shows Skokie Police officer Michael Hart shoving Cassandra Feuerstein into a jail cell and her head hitting a concrete bench. She suffered serious injuries to her face.

Hart resigned after the March, 2013 incident and pleaded guilty to official misconduct.
