CHICAGO (WLS) -- Family and friends of a young murder victim in Chicago are trying to uncover more clues about the unsolved case.

Sunday they released balloons on the 49000-block of North Whipple in Albany Park, where 19-year-old Sameer Barakat was shot to death while walking home with his father and little brother on August 5, 2012.

The family also passed out flyers in the neighborhood in hopes someone will come forward with information that could help investigators.
