NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Residents in a Naperville neighborhood looked out their windows to see police officers with their guns drawn on Monday morning.

Police said they were looking for two suspects who rear-ended another car, then beat and robbed the driver around 8:30 a.m. The suspects were fleeing the scene in the car when police tried to stop them. They ditched the vehicle near River and Thornapple roads, police said.

"He came through the front and ran through the fence. There was this white guy I didn't know," a witness said. "Then I saw cop cars coming through the neighborhood."

Police blocked off the area near the crash and used an Illinois State Police helicopter in the search. One of the suspects was arrested, but the other remains on the run.

"It's possible he is still in the area on foot. There was no weapon used in this incidence so we don't believe he's necessarily a danger," said Cmdr. Lou Cammiso, Naperville Police Dept.

Naperville police are asking residents to call 911 if they see something suspicious.

The DuPage County Sheriff is assisting in the search.
