1 in custody after police rear-end van on NW Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A suspect is in custody following a report of shots fired in the 5800-block of W. Erie on Monday afternoon.

Police said officers were trying to stop a van near North and Mobile when the driver slammed on the brakes. The squad car rear-ended the van and two men ran from the scene.

Officers searched the scene and arrested one man.

Police said they do not have any reports of anyone who was shot.
