1 killed, 2 injured in East Garfield Park motorcycle crash

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A passenger in a motorcycle was killed in a crash in the East Garfield Park neighborhood Saturday night, Chicago police said.

A 2001 Mercury was traveling north in the first block of North Kedzie Avenue and made a left turn onto Madison Street where it was hit on the passenger side by a motorcycle at about 11:25 p.m., police said.

A 28-year-old man who was a passenger on the motorcycle died and the driver, a 47-year-old woman, was transported to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

A 36-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Mercury suffered minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital.

The driver of the Mercury was cited for an improper left turn, no valid driver's license and no insurance, police said.
