Car hits IDOT truck responding to I-290 accident, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two Illinois Department of Transportation employees were injured after a car hit their truck on I-290 near Western Avenue, officials said.

The employees were assisting state police with a left lane closure for a previous fatal accident that occurred Saturday morning on the expressway, officials said.

The employees were hospitalized with minor injuries.
