Police warn of strong-arm robberies in Albany Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning residents of three strong-arm robberies in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood in the last week.

Authorities said in each incident, a man approached a woman and took her property by force.

Two women were robbed along West Lawrence Avenue near North Kimball Avenue, police said. A 22-year-old woman was robbed on Sept. 28 around 4:05 p.m. A 34-year-old woman was robbed on Sept. 30 around 2:30 p.m.

A 24-year-old woman was also robbed on Sept. 30. She was attacked around 8:15 p.m. near West Montrose and North Lawndale avenues.

Police are looking for two male suspects. One is described as an African American man in his early forties, between 5 ft. 9 in. and 6 ft. 2 in. tall. He has a birthmark or scar on his face. The other is described as an African American man in his early twenties with black hair, between 5 ft. 6 in. and 5 ft. 7 in. tall. He was last seen wearing a black coat.
