Illinois State Police charge alleged cannabis smuggler

LASALLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Illinois State Police have charged Thaoi Minh Le, 26, of Garden Grove, Calif., with two felonies related to alleged cannabis smuggling.

Police say Le was stopped by a trooper on I-80 for speeding, at which time the trooper smelled marijuana inside the vehicle. Police say they discovered four suitcases containing approximately 106 lbs. of cannabis.

Le is charged with Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver and Cannabis Trafficking. He is scheduled to appear in Bureau County bond court Wednesday.
