Indiana woman pulled from sunroof moments before car fire, police say

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WLS) -- An Indiana woman is lucky to be alive after police say she was pulled from her car seconds before it went up in flames.

Ashley Birge, 39, allegedly crashed head-on into a semi-truck in Boone County, Ind. Thursday, police said. The truck driver was not hurt.

Police say he and two off-duty firefighters rushed over to pull the woman from her sunroof moments before the car caught fire.

Officials are continuing to investigate.
