Elgin HS under brief lockdown after pellet gun incident

ELGIN, Ill (WLS) -- Larkin High School in Elgin was under lockdown briefly Friday morning after a student allegedly brought a pellet gun to school.

During a search of the northwest suburban school, police said they found a 17-year-old student with a pellet gun inside a car near the building.

The school lifted the lockdown after about an hour.

The student faces disorderly conduct charges.

Police released him to his parents.
