CHICAGO (WLS) -- A security guard shot a man who threatened to hit him with a brick in Chicago's Near West Side neighborhood, police said.
The guard told police he tried to break up a fight between a 30-year-old man and a woman around 10 p.m. Sunday at the Oakley Square Apartments in the 2300-block of West Jackson Boulevard.
Officers said the man was threatening a woman and the guard with a brick. The guard shot him in the chest. The man ran away and later went to Stroger Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.
No charges have been filed. The incident remains under investigation.
