Series of cellphone store robberies reported near Chicago Lawn

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning residents near the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood about a series of armed robberies at cellphone stores in the area.

In each of the incidents, the offenders allegedly entered the stores, produced a handgun and demanded cellphones and money from the register, police said.

Incidents were reported at the following locations:

  • 6600-block of S. Cicero on Dec. 15 around 4:40 p.m.
  • 6900-block of S. Pulaski on Dec. 24 around 10:42 a.m.
  • 8200-block of S. Kedzie on Dec. 26 around 1:57 p.m.
  • 5100-block of S. Cicero on Dec. 29 around 7:35 p.m.

The alleged offenders are described as two African American men between 16 and 23-years-old. They are between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall and weigh between 140-175 pounds.
