CPD's top brass begin de-escalation training

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Police Department's top brass started de-escalation training on Thursday.

A CPD spokesman said the Chicago's senior command staff spent several hours learning tactics to resolve confrontations without deadly force. The training will expand to eventually include all Chicago officers.

It is part of a citywide effort to restore accountability and trust in the Chicago Police Department.
