CHICAGO (WLS) -- Illinois remains one of six states or U.S. territories where your driver's license won't be good enough to get you on a domestic airliner in a few years.

The Department of Homeland Security is working to get all states to adopt new, more technologically advanced IDs. So far, Illinois is not in compliance.

On Friday, the government said the state has until 2018 to change that.
