CHICAGO (WLS) -- There's a plan that would allow fans to drink alcohol outside the Friendly Confines.

The proposal drafted by Alderman Tom Tunney would allow beer and wine sales in a plaza next to Wrigley Field. The Cubs released renderings of the plaza in November.

It's expected to open in the spring and will also be used for events like farmers markets and music performances.
