Metra could expand pet ridership program

More pets could be riding the Metra rails on weekends.

In September, Metra expanded a pilot program that lets small animals on trains through the end of this month.

Metra officials said they have received a lot of positive feedback from riders.

The program is expected to be recommended to be permanent.
