1 rescued from Chicago River on North Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A person is in serious condition after being removed from the Chicago River on the city's North Side, Chicago Fire Department officials said.

The person was rescued near North Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Thursday and transported to a local hospital, officials said.

No other details have been released.
