ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- A northwest suburban Palatine 87-year-old donated his 20th gallon of blood Monday.

George Serena donated blood at the Lifesource Community Donor Center in Arlington Heights.

When he donates, Serena often takes on an alter ego called "Mr. Blood Drop," complete with a red Hershey Kiss-like costume.

He started donating 70 years ago when he donated on behalf of a dying uncle who needed a blood transfusion.
