Baby Budweiser Clydesdale born

BOONVILLE, MO -- The Budweiser Clydesdale family has welcomed its newest member.

Meet Mac. The company said his name is in honor of its Clydesdales being "the most macro of all icons."

It's also a nod to the company's tagline: "proudly a macro beer."

Anheuser-Busch announced the foal was born Tuesday at the Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, Missouri. It reported the mom and baby are both happy and healthy.

The ranch is home to more than 160 Clydesdales.

The company said Mac will live there and learn the ins and outs of being a Budweiser Clydesdale.

The tradition of the Budweiser Clydesdales started in 1933 when they made their first appearance as a gift from August A. Busch, Jr. and Adolphus Busch to their father in celebration of the repeal of Prohibition.
