Crews battle Oak Lawn house fire

OAK LAWN, Ill. (WLS) -- Crews have extinguished a fire that ripped through a home in suburban Oak Lawn, officials said.

The fire broke out around 2 a.m. Saturday in the home, located in the 10000-block of Harnew Road, officials said. Upon arrival, crews found flames and thick smoke pouring out from the roof and windows.

One person and a pet dog were able to escape safely, and no injuries were reported.
