JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) -- An Amtrak train struck the back end of a semi tractor-trailer near Joliet, officials said.

Amtrak train #303 was in route from Chicago to St. Louis late Friday morning when the collision occurred near Laraway Road. Amtrak officials say the crossing gates were operational at the time of the crash. No one was injured.

Officials said passengers have been given the option of taking a bus to St. Louis or going back to Chicago. They have not said when the train, which has to be towed back to Chicago, will be cleared.
