Person seriously injured in Elgin shooting

ELGIN, Ill. -- A person was shot Sunday morning inside a house in northwest suburban Elgin.

Officers responded to the shooting in the 700 block of Wing Street at 6:49 a.m., according to Elgin police.

A male, whose age wasn't immediately available, was involved in an altercation inside a home when he was shot, police said.

He was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
