HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (WLS) -- A Chicago Cougars hockey player paralyzed while playing in the suburbs last month is showing signs of improvement.

Twenty-year-old Matt Olson's parents say they expect him to move back to their home in Minnesota in the next week or two.

He suffered the injury when he fell head first into the boards during a game in suburban Hoffman Estates.

His parents said doctors are encouraged with his progress in rehab.

His team set up a GoFundMe page to gather donations.
