CHICAGO (WLS) -- They may be opponents on the ice, but the Chicago Blackhawks and the Minnesota Wild have come together to help an injured hockey player.

Matt Olson, a Minnesota native, suffered a severe spinal cord injury last month while playing hockey for the Chicago Cougars.

The teams and their broadcast partners have raised more than $177,000 to help pay for his care.
